I recently picked up a genuine BMW M Performance Brake System for my E91.
The kit is manufactured by Brembo and features six-piston fixed front calipers and two-piston fixed rear calipers.
You can clearly see the Brembo branding on the calipers, although the system was sold through BMW as an official M Performance accessory.
Brake Specifications
The front rotors measure 338mm, which actually makes them slightly smaller than the factory front rotors found on the E9x 335i.

One interesting detail is that both front rotors use the same slot orientation from left to right, which is somewhat unusual compared to many aftermarket performance brake setups.
Pad Choice Matters
When I purchased the kit used, it came with an unknown low-dust brake pad compound.
Unfortunately, braking performance was surprisingly poor, so those pads were removed almost immediately.
After switching to DIXCEL Z-Type pads, the system completely transformed.
The pedal feel is excellent, initial bite is strong, and overall braking confidence improved dramatically. In my experience, the M Performance calipers and DIXCEL Z-Type pads work exceptionally well together.

Wheel Compatibility
The system fits OEM BMW 17-inch alloy wheels and larger.
Factory wheels such as the Style 193M and Style 194M clear the brakes without issues.
Why I Chose This Kit
One of the biggest reasons I wanted this brake system is that it’s an official BMW component.
While there are plenty of aftermarket brake options available, I prefer modifications that look as though they could have come from the factory.
My E91 may be getting older, but my goal is to preserve its original character and appearance while subtly improving the driving experience using genuine BMW parts whenever possible.
