A lot of people on X say sunroofs are pointless. They’re often criticized for adding weight, making the cabin hotter in summer, colder in winter, and being something owners rarely use.
The E91 was available with a large panoramic sunroof, and for me, it’s one of those options I wouldn’t want to be without.
After more than nine years of ownership, I’ve never had a single issue with mine. It’s been completely reliable and a pleasure to use.

I mostly drive with the sunroof open outside of the summer months. During summer, keeping both the glass panel and the sunshade closed does a surprisingly good job of blocking the heat.
There are plenty of ways to enjoy it. Open the sunshade for extra light, use the tilt function, or open the roof completely. One nice feature of the E91 is that both the front and rear glass panels tilt upward.
To me, there’s just something special about a panoramic sunroof. It adds a sense of openness and enjoyment that you simply can’t get from a regular roof.
